Safety First

Don't be a rebel without a cause (or without a safety manual, for that matter!) - read up on the important safety guidelines in the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) handbook here. Let's keep our awesome hobby thriving and sticking around for generations to come. So let's all do our part to keep it safe and fun for everyone.

Remember, safety is everyone's business, so remember to follow some commonsense guidelines:

1. *Pre-Flight Check*: Don't be a crash test dummy! Inspect your plane, controls, and surroundings before takeoff.

2. *Know Your Limits*: Don't fly beyond your skills, buddy! Start with easy modes and graduate to aerobatics.

3. *Airfield Awareness*: Scope out the flying field for obstacles, people, and pesky squirrels.

4. *Frequency Check*: Make sure you're on the right channel, or you might interfere with other flyers!

5. *Buddy System*: Fly with a friend – it's safer and more fun!

6. *Weather Watch*: No flying in bad weather, unless you want to reenact "The Perfect Storm"!

7. *Keep it Visual*: Don't fly beyond your line of sight – you might lose your plane (and your mind)!

8. *Respect the Space*: Keep a safe distance from other flyers, planes, and innocent bystanders.

9. *Battery, Servos and Prop Check*: Don't let the important stuff die mid-flight – that's just embarrassing!

10. *No Fly Zones*: Avoid airports, national parks, and your neighbor's pool party.

11. *Right of Way*: Yield to full-scale aircraft, gliders, and birds (they were here first)!

12. *Flight Plan*: Plan your flight, and stick to it – no impromptu aerobatics!

13. *Safety Gear*: Wear protective gear, like goggles and a helmet – safety is cool!

14. *Airplane Maintenance*: Regularly check and maintain your plane to avoid mid-air malfunctions.

15. *Follow Local Rules*: Check with your local RC club or authorities for specific flying regulations.

16. *Have Fun!*: Spread the SparkJoy!
