From Hobbyists to Kit Makers: A Love for RC Aviation

From Hobbyists to Kit Makers: A Love for RC Aviation

Wondering where the name Spark Joy comes from? It's inspired by the Japanese word "Tokimeku," meaning excitement, flutter, or thrill. That's exactly how we see the hobby of Radio Control flying – a heart-pounding, adrenaline-pumping experience that makes every flight an adventure and, of course, laughing out louder!

Here's the kicker: we're not professional aviators. Nope, we're just a group of regular dads in sunny southern California with full-time gigs, juggling the eight-to-five grind like everyone else. SparkJoyRC became our labor of love, our after-hours escape from the daily hustle, and decided to make our creations available to the rest of the RC community.

At SparkJoyRC, we're not here to compete; no, we're here to contribute. Our goal is to add our unique touch to the tapestry of RC flying. We believe in the power of collaboration and sharing the joy of flight with the entire community.

On that note, we tip our imaginary hats to the trailblazers who paved the way for RC excellence. Utmost homage to Kline-Fogleman for their airfoil work, the countless great people of RCgroups, Josh Bixler and the Flite Test team, and many others on our Vendors list. Their passion and dedication have inspired us, and we stand on their shoulders as we navigate the skies together.

Here’s to fair winds and blue skies! Cheers!
